Quick copywriting for the web is often a matter of being prepared and mentally organized. Here are 8 steps to help you get and keep your act together.
Step 1: Follow a Plan
Whether you are going with the standard intro-body-conclusion format or a variant of it, know ahead of time what you want to use.
Step 2: Use an Outline
Whether you are writing 500 words or 5,000, quick copywriting for the web can be done by writing an outline and expanding it gradually until you are ready to start writing sentences.
Step 3: Craft Good Sentences
Remember that each sentence should be friendly and conversational, not showy and flowery.
Step 4: Transitions
Sometimes this can be the hardest part of quick copywriting for the web because when we write fast we dash out our thoughts like a fury. Pay attention to leading in and out of paragraphs.
Step 5: Know Your Readers
You need to know your readers well so you can write directly to them. Know their economic background as a group, if they have families, etc. This will make quick copywriting for the web will be more targeted.
Step 6: Use the Reader’s Words
Sometimes new writers think that they need to use $10 words when all they need is a dollar’s worth. Be clear with your reader.
Step 7: Proofread
Read everything carefully, and don’t depend on spell checkers–they miss words that are spelled right but misused, and sometimes they miss a single letter standing alone.
Step 8: A Second Pair of Eyes
Have another person read your writing. Sometimes we miss obvious continuity and factual errors.
