Getting your articles on other people’s sites is one of the best methods to extend your reach beyond article directories. The sky is really the limit when it comes to article marketing. However, how could you find sites that help increase your exposure?

There are several ways to do it. First, you can find sites that have been posting your articles from article directories. You can do this by using the title or unique sentence in your article as the search keyphrase in Google (use quotation marks to search for exact match).

Contacting the site owners to have them publish your other articles can work very well, because they already like what you write and you already secure the credibility.

However, such sites may or may not be high-traffic sites. Busy sites usually have a lot of people approaching them for exposure or simply requesting for reciprocal linking or backlinks.

In this situation, you want to stand out from the crowd. Rather than proposing directly your intention to get links, do it a bit differently. Offer yourself to help their site visitors. Build the relationship with them slowly and gain that trust.

It may seem like you are covering your true intention by building the relationship, but that’s not how it was meant to work. Be sincere about helping and become resourceful, the rewards will come naturally.

You could start by searching in Google using the relevant keywords that are used by typical customers in your niche. Use Alexa to gauge the level of traffic. You may not be able to go straight to the top authority site in the niche, but certainly you can start building rapport from the less popular sites.

Don’t underestimate the power of smaller sites though. They usually have very qualified traffic with close relationship with their visitors. I mean, their readers can develop a strong bond with the site. Getting into such sites may bring you a lot of prospects and customers.
