Does the media really over due the coverage the give to black athletes who have trouble with the law or their private lives? Does the media over due the coverage they give to black athletes in sports? Why does the media not give both sides of these athletes and all athletes? Covering a story about high profile athletes in some kind of trouble media outlets should give not always just the bad side of this story. What have these athletes done to help their sport? What do these athletes do in their community to help children that look up to black athletes today?
I have been watching sports stories on many different athletes I believe that if the media is going to cover these stories talk or write about both sides of this athlete. Do not always repeat the same story about what that athlete did wrong this goes for any athlete. I believe that today’s black athletes are higher profile cases when a black athlete breaks the law. I hope that it is not the color of a athletes skin that brings more media coverage. The media has to cover high profile athlete news. This is news that their fans want to hear about their favorite athlete. Covering athletes that have trouble with the law is not easy for any reporter.
Athletes that are high profile are always subject to more media coverage because their fans want to know every thing that they can about their favorite athlete. High profile athletes bring in more viewers for media outlets. This high profile coverage sells big money air time for media outlets. I believe that today’s black athletes are looked up to more by their fans from all race. I believe its to bad that the media covers more of the bad things a black athlete does. I know that their is alot of extra pressure on today’s black athlete to always live a clean life away from any trouble that comes along. Sometimes and high profile black athlete has to take the good with the bad as a high profile athlete.
Today’s black athletes have a better way of life with a chance to make big money and have fame without the daily racial trash that black athletes put up with in past years. Sometimes sports fans like me want for their favorite players to always be a hero on the field as well as off. I believe that black athletes have so much pressure of them because they are raising the hopes of success on any for all future black athletes. Today`s black athletes have raise the bar of hopes for future success for all black people. I know that their should be no pressure on athletes of any color to have to live up to their fans ideas of how their favorite sports hero should live.
Black athletes today are building the hopes of young black children every where that they really do have a chance to be successful in life if these children work hard to achieve success. There is media pressure on all athletes that are successful because today`s athletes are live the sports dream that all sports children hope to achieve when they grow up. Every child athlete no matter what race want the life that today’s athletes have.
I believe that some times there must be a down time on covering these athletes in the media. I do not judge all athletes by the wrongs that some athletes commit. Black athletes are very popular because of their success its a shame that the constant coverage of a few bad athletes makes more news then all the good most black athletes do. I hope the day will come when sport fans will only see what that athlete did wrong and not so much talk about their color. Until the day comes when sports fans and the media cover only what that athlete did wrong and not talk about the athletes color this kind of media talk will continue. I do not think and athlete should be judged by his or her color.
I see so much brotherhood between today’s athletes they look our for each other no matter what the color of that teammate. This is how every race should be looking out for each other no matter what. Our country has made so many strides when it comes to race there is much more for all of us to do not just in sports but in all our lives before the race card can be burned for ever. I hope that the brother hood that has developed on the field will become part of every day life. Sports have brought about so much change for the good. Do not let the bad acts of a few change this for any sport.
